‘*online now*’ is a self portrait series focusing on the intricate relationship between technology, sex, identity, and societal perception. Through a diverse array of images captured with varying dimensions and recording methods, I delve into the complexity of digital selfhood, examining how technology shapes our online personas and influences self-expression. ‘*online now*’ explores the relationship between the body and the self and confronts the influence of external perceptions on my own sense of self, particularly regarding societal norms, racialization, and fetishization, focusing on my experience and feelings as a Chinese-American queer nonbinary person, especially through my experiences with sex work.
