Their practice explores identity, perception, desire, and the ways images shape how we understand ourselves and one another. Drawing from contemporary image culture and lived experience, Liu examines the relationship between self-representation and spectatorship, with particular attention to visibility, intimacy, racialization, and the politics of looking.
Working primarily through lens-based media, they approaches the camera not simply as a tool for documentation, but as an interface through which identity is staged, performed, and negotiated. Their work moves between personal and constructed imagery, often engaging the visual languages of fashion, advertising, social media, and digital culture.
