*online now* uses self-portraiture to examine how identity is produced through visibility, desire, and circulation. Working across photography, digital collage, and rendered imagery, Liu treats the camera not as a tool of documentation but as an active interface—one that shapes how the self is performed, perceived, and understood.
The work considers the feedback loop between self-image and spectatorship: looking, capturing, editing, and sharing become ways of negotiating the body and its visibility. Drawing from Liu's experience as a Chinese-American queer nonbinary person, *online now* examines how racialization and fetishization shape both the image and the person being imaged.
